Sustainibility

Sustainability of the Gyan Sanchar project is of key importance. To achieve sustainability, the project emphasizes five basic features - accessibility, adaptability, profitability, reliability, and replicability.

To serve the needs of the people in the villages, the PTICs will be operated by local residents and located in an area accessible by all, irrespective of caste, religion and gender. The project is built on co-operation and support from local authorities and community participation, as local and business partnerships are integral to long term success.

To ensure continued viability of PTICs, fees are charged for services, based on the paying capacity of villagers.
